DESCRIPTION: Using the magic wand, create your very own Gem stones

1.Open a new image 300 x300

2.Open your gem pattern go to edit/ trace image except the defaults

You may need to adjust the threshold to something around 160 or more

3.Change Horizontal Deform to 2D/ change color to Black
4.Drag image to your open canvas. Object Merge close original image
5.Using the magic wand make a selectin in the center of the crown
6.Using color here so you see the selection.
Convert to object drag off the canvas, save this circle you'll need it later.
7.Magnify to about 200 %
8.Open your gradient tiles
9.Make a selection using your Magic Wand (EXAMPLE 9)
10.Selection/expand/shrink by 1
11.Moving to your tiles choose one you want to use for your fill
Got to edit or right click/copy

go back to your image (example 9)

12.Go to edit/paste/ fit into selestion
13.Format brightness/contrast
14.Adjust settings to your liking
15.Your Image should look something like this,
You can do this one fill at a time or fill your entire image then select your fills, change the briteness, contrast & transparency at the same time, When you have the crown finished merge as a single object. Same for the Pavillion
16.Right click/properties set your transparency to your liking, I set mine at 17.
17."Now. remember the circle selection you saved, you can now open that...." Select the round fill from your tiles. Right click copy edit paste, fit into selection  
18.Erase the extra using your object Magic Eraser tool, remember to use your briteness & contrast here to..
19.Select your filled images Not the black outline
20.Move to new canvas
21.Assemble as shown, Merge as a single object. resize to 100 x 100 pixles
You can play with some other effects, Try using the Distort/Facet-options.

Making solid colors is the same, only you use solid colors instead of gradients.

That's it Your finished.
